It is very simple. Most small electronics such as mobile, imac, contracts last for 24 months to 36 months. After this time, you are free to move to a new mobile or imac and sell your old imac.
But that means that many imacs only have a useful life of only a few years at the absolute maximum. This is a shame as the technology in them is built to last a lot longer.
However, it is not just a matter of buying a new one. What do you do with the old one while you can buy a more modern one, which is probably a much smaller and lighter, model to work with?
Just throw it in the bin, maybe? Totally forget that there are harmful chemicals in the device, such as mercury in the battery, which over time will build up and pollute the landfill sites and make the environment more poisonous?
There are more alternatives that are far better than throwing those electronics in a bin! For a start, you can sell your old imac via plenty of different websites. But, can you be bothered going onto each website, finding your make and model and getting a quote?
Probably not, unless you have one of the more recent handsets that they are paying a small fortune for! So, for this reason, price comparison sites have appeared. Just go to one of the websites, enter the model of your old item and the system will tell you the best prices you can get for your old phone and how to exchange it for cash!
It is well worth selling it when you have finished with your old imac and even if these websites do not give much value for the one that you are replacing, there are still other ways of turning it into money.
Even though it is no longer useful to you, someone else might find it useful for them, even if only for spare parts! If they are desperate for a replacement battery, a recharger or a replacement back to keep their own handset running, buying your old imac of you might be just what they need.
Whatever you decide to do, don't just throw it away! It is filling landfill sites with chemicals which, over time, accumulate and can pollute the ground and it is missing the chance to earn for yourself a little bit (and sometimes not so little!) of extra cash for what is essentially rubbish!
